If you're having that kind of pain you're over taxing your lower extremities! It sounds like you're cramping! Make sure you're wearing the correct foot gear when you're running!

Why are you running twice daily? Are you drinking enough fluids? Are you properly stretching and warming up?

It would seem that more important than muscle mass is that you are sick and haven't eaten. Have you been able to get fluids down? You need to try taking some small sips of water or ice chips. If you get dehydrated you will get sicker. If your condition has not improved within 12 -24 hours you need to call your physician or go to the urgent care or ER. When you do try to eat stick to something like chicken broth, chicken noodle soup, cranberry or apple juice. Once those stay down move on to toast, oatmeal along with fluid.
Don't worry you won't loose muscle mass with a short illness.

Sounds like just internal bruising which will subside in a week or so. If it was anything worse, it is unlikely you could support your weight never mind walk. Have warm soak & use some liniment. Exercise through the pain to keep supple & dissipate bruise. Rest the elbow.

Hips are tricky, it might have slipped? Or something along those lines or it's just sore from the angle you fell on it. Leave it a day and see if it gets better. However, in the future you might get more pain from it inside the hip again and if that happens over a course of time go to your doctor. If they don't think it's severe and just muscles or something then fair enough but if it really starts to get bad then you must ask for a referall for something like an x-ray to check your hip isn't going to slip but sometimes these things are too early. It sounds like you justtt twisted your hip wierdly when you fell or the bone's sore... :) Just rest and don't walk on it.

It is impossible for you to lose muscle mass, as it is a tissue. That's like saying your arm'll fall off if you don't use it for a week. It is possible for it to shrink, that all depends on how long you don't use it for and depending on how much water within the muscle, or muscle layers, you lose will vary the amount of time it'll take to get it back.

right you could break the scaphoid by falling and landind on your hands. Or you could just hit the scaphoid area of your wrist really really hard (it works). Treatment for a scaphoid fracture or break is usually a few x-rays then a removable splint or cast for 4-6 weeks.
hope this helped good luck!

Yes, they will be able to walk again. Surgical reconstruction of ligaments has become very advanced and can be done mostly arthoscopically. Athletes can return to sports as soon as 6 months post-op. Usually, before surgery, people, with torn ligaments, are walking with a brace. Some can even walk without it as ligament tears affect every one differently. I had a friend who had a torn ACL and torn mensicus and walked around and did karate for 2 years with occasional problems until she had a MRI to see what was wrong. Another person I knew who was a miracle case tore her ACL. Before surgery, she was doing physical therapy and was able to run 10 minutes on a treadmill there without her brace. Needless to say, most aren't like her. However, another friend of mine, like your friend, tore hers and couldn't really even get off the soccer field.

She will be fine :) It's going to take time and hard work, but she will get better

Good Luck

Ask your doctor for a home e-stim unit to attach to your quad/calf. Because of the weight precautions to the lower leg, there aren't a whole lot of exercises to do for the thigh. The e-stim unit will shock the muscles and can be used to keep the muscles relatively strong for the time being. After a few weeks, the doctor should release you to an increase weight baring status so don't worry about this too much. It'll take time but the muscles will rebuild pretty quickly once you're using them fully again.

and are you sure you are suppose to be walking without crutches? Usually the doctors wants you to not put weight on it. If you do, it could hinder your healing or make it worse.

A torn ACL is a somewhat common knee injury. It is a very easy fix for an orthopedic surgeon. I had my left knee done a few years ago and I'd say it is 99% of what it was before the injury.

No surface bruising - and no surface pain - most of your pain receptors are on the surface so deep damage is hard to work out.
You could have a deep bruise or a small muscle tear - these go away in time.
Any significant damage will have you in serious pain with percetible swelling.
Give it a day or so - then see a doctor.

What it does, is clean out your insides, there will be as much as 20 lbs in there, and no degree of diet and exercise is likely to rid you of it. Give it a try out - I did, and lost 17 lbs LOL!!!

Sad to say that there isn't a whole lot you can do about this. The stomp probably broke some blood vessels underneath the toenail just like any other bruise. I get this a lot on my big toe so I know how painful and how annoying it is and it's lasted up to five months! The only thing to really do is ice the toe for now to make the pain go away, paint your toes over the discoloration and then wait for it to go away in time.

Shoulder separation, often seen in athletes, is perhaps the most common injury of the shoulder. It is a stretching or tearing of the ligament that attaches the collarbone to one of the bones that forms the shoulder joint. It causes a slight deformity and extreme tenderness at the end of the collarbone. Sprains and strains of other ligaments occur, but complete tearing is unusual, as are fractures. Dislocations of the shoulder are rare outside of athletics but are best treated early when they do occur.
In summary, severe fractures and dislocations are best treated early. These usually cause deformity and severe pain and limit movement. Other fractures won't be harmed by delayed treatment if the injured limb is rested and protected. Complete tears of ligaments are rare; strains and sprains will heal with home treatment. May be your mom, should seek a second opinion.
I hope this helps you. And good luck.

See, initially I would say pain is most likely to be strain from swimming, but you say you never swam so that rules that out.
Have you had a previous knock/hit/accident to that area of leg? If so it could be the previous injury causing pain. Or one last option I can think of is that the pain your experiencing sounds very much like what my uncle got and he actually had a blood clot in the leg, so for your sake I would probably get to the doctors just to be safe. Good luck x

No matter what any of us say, whether we think you have P.A.D. or Sciatica, it doesn't matter. We're not doctors. So, I would suggest you go see a doctor tomorrow. You can go to a clinic, or urgent care without an appointment. I think there are a few nurses on Yahoo, but not sure how to get them to answer your question specifically. In the meantime you can use this link to check symptoms on WebMD http://symptoms.webmd.com/default.htm

X-Rays for positioning then casting again .Your pick........my advice soaking no sweat ! but actual swimming movements TSSK TSSK

I'm not sure, but if you do this, you should probably just get in the pool and keep your arm out of it - while wearing the protector, of course. You don't want to reinjure or have to get it recasted. So about all that you should be doing in a pool is just cooling off, anyway - certainly no swimming or diving, playing Marco Polo (or water polo).

There is nothing wrong about any of your Q? As long as they are the things that may bother you. Again it will be one on one, if you can ask this on iternet when billion of people can see these Qs? then you should be able to get correct answers from your Dr. Based on those, you may want to even cancel postpone the surgery.

Try ice, or even take a dry towel, roll it up, fasten it with a safety pin in the front or back, and use it as a soft collar to support your head.. Even a hot shower may work! Good Luck :)

You really do need to go. Ask someone like a friend or neighbor for a ride. I have a bad neck and something similar has happened to me. You can try a warm shower, alternate heat and cold, muscle relaxers, ibuprophen.
