I have fever, 100.6 F taken orally. It increased from 100.0 to 100.6 in about three minutes straight, and it isn't responding to the panadol I took- I checked again in around 20 minutes. Could it have increased even more and then come back to 100.6 when I checked again?

P.S- yesterday and today I've been having a lot of cold soft drinks and I also have pain while swallowing. Is it a throat infection? Why did it increase so fast? I'm also pretty paranoid about getting leukaema.
EDIT: I know it's not a raging fever, but I only got it like an hour and a half ago, and I'm afraid of it increasing more.

The low grade fever of 100.6 F is not much to be worried about. Such low grade fevers can actually help you get over a bug much quicker. If it is really making you feel too crummy and you want to get it down you can try mixing the Panadol with a NSAID like Advil or Motrin. Cool showers may also help. Do you have a sore throat? If you do, then Strep-throat is a big concern and you should have it checked. Other then that it is fluids and rest for you. Hope you feel better soon.
