well she obviously has a really bad infection if it's coming out her eyes. And you would be cranky also if you had that sorta infection. I suffer from sinus problems so i know how she feels poor thing. And no sinus / ear infections usually take longer than 24-48 hours. Hell i've been on a 10 day antibiotic before. You need to follow the doctor's directions precisely.

Also here's something that might help her sleep at night. Get a vaporizer...and they have children's vick rub you can put on her chest and/or in the actual vaporizer. You can pick this up at Wal-mart, Target, Walgreen's etc. This will help her sleep at night. You even may want to keep it going in a room where she plays during the day. You really want to keep the sinus' moist to help clear out the infections. you should encourage her to cough also. and you need to be sucking out the congestion with those baby nose sucker things regularly. Or teaching her how to blow her nose. Either or. but you need to get that infection out. It' sjust like when you have a cold. The doctor says to try to cough it up as much as possible and spit it out and to blow your nose. It's the same with the baby.

Also, here's something that will help to get the infection flowing out and to relieve some of the sinus pain in your child's head. There's pressure points on either side of the nose right where the top of the eye socket and nose meet. Lightly press with thumbs on those pressure points..then with light pressure run your thumbs up over the tops of the eye brows where the sinus cavities are and once you hit the edge of the eyebrow press down lightly to the cheek bone. Now run your thumbs with light pressure along the cheek bones where the lower sinus cavities all the way back up to the bridge of the nose. Then light pinch the bridge of the nose lift the skin upwards slightly. you want to do this a few a times a day. Secondly, you want to massage the ear canal...your sinus ear canal is located right up by the hinge of your jaw. Light pressure...massage in circles and then down in to the sinus'. Thirdly....right at the back of the head where the spine meets the skull is two more pressure points. You want to with light pressure pinch and lift with thumbs hold for a minute...then with thumbs light pressure (same width span) move thumbs up skull slowly and to the front of the forehead...massage forehead and brow area.

All of this will help to relieve all the pressure and get the infection flowing so it will start to move outta the body.

My little girl has a sinus infection and an ear infection. She started antibiotics on Monday night, and as of yesterday (Wednesday) the fever broke. She's still really cranky though. She's very congested, nose is running, eyes are leaking nasty yellow discharge (Dr. said this is NOT pink eye, its from the infection) This is now day 4 of the antibiotic. Since the fever broke I assume it's working, but she's still not happy. She wakes up coughing and crying in the middle of the night, and she's very whiney during the day. She still plays and stuff, and she's drinking, but she's not eating much either.

Should I be concerned and bring her back to the Doctor, or is it normal for these things to take more time than just an ear infection, which in general is 24-48 on antibiotic, and you're all better.

    Anyone?

I can understand the baby is really uncomfortable. Give another 3days, as antibiotics take minimum 5 days to show effect and the fever to comedown.

Give her calpol/ tylenol for children to ease off earache. You could use normal saline drops to ease of nasal congestion. They are available as blisters of 10 and are disposable. Just put 2 drops in each nostrils. 2 - 5Min's later the plghem coms out through the nose, clear it. The baby will be able to breathe easily.

I have been through this period as both my children were prone to recurrent ear infections and cold.
