I'm a 15 year old guy and this year was really the first year ever that I've broken out so badly ... My skin is not very oily, but it's slightly dry, I guess you could say.
When I broke out I got acne mostly on the sides of my face, and I usually don't get it much on my forehead at all. I started using the AcneFree brand, first the average for about a month which made it a little less noticeable, but didn't really seem to be super effective, then I switched over to the AcneFree Severe and starting using the "Terminator10" together, the first day it worked REALLY well, but the next few days it made my skin dry out to the extreme and it looked like I had a horrible sunburn and my skin began to flake ... I don't think that it would be temporary.
I'm wondering if I should just convert back to the Purifying cleanser I've been using all along and use that with the terminator10 or just find an entirely new brand ...
Pleaasseee tell me what brands there are for my type of skin case and recommend what to go with it.

This is what I used first, note that I used it by itself and not with anything else but SPF 8 sunblock after cleansing ...http://www.acnefree.com/node/40
Then I used the severe cleanser with the terminator10, which made my skin flake and burn ...

What brands work really well? Gahh, please help me! D:

    Hi there :)

If you're suffering from acne, it's best not to use any products that you can buy at normal stores without a perscription or products they advertise on TV. Those products are NOT made especially for YOUR skin. They're made in mass quantities and usually use a lot of harsh chemicals which can cause your skin to age prematurely and even have some nasty side effects.

If you want to get the best medication you can for you skin type, you should see a dermatologist (a doctor that specilizes in skin) and talk to them. They can accurately see what type of skin you have and determain what medication would be best for you. They might give you a cream, or some ointment, or even pills depending on what they think. And the best thing: Most of the time (Like 90 percent of the time), the stuff works.

The only trouble is, the dermatologists are somewhat expensive. If you're looking for something that works that isn't that pricey, try either skin ID or Aveda Outer Peace (Which is what Im on now and it's AMAZING. I have a similar skin type as you). You can buy it online or at Aveda hair salons.

    Best of luck :)

Remember you are still growing so your hormones are all over the place. Be patient.

    What works for me is:

Atkinson Witch Hazel - use this after you wash with a mild soap (like Dove). Yes you have sensitive skin! Then spread a small amount of Noxzema all over your face before you go to bed. Put a small dot of it on each pimple to dry it up. Drink lots of water with lemon slices in it throughout the day. Start and end each day with this drink. The lemons help your skin from the inside out to toss out the toxins in your blood.

Lay off the sugar stuff (this mess causes your pimples, candybars, chips, donuts,)etc. Eat more veggies and fruits, whole grains, oats, stuff like this.

You should get results in 2 days. Your friends will ask what have you been doing to your face?? It's our little secret. Get plenty of sleep (8) hours at nite.

Drink a little lemon water (you can make it warm) before you go to bed and after you get up in the morning. Oh yeah, no sodas, they are horrible to your skin (it's got salt and sugar in it) horrible huh?Hope this helps:) Yes you are very handsome:)
