Are round lenses doable with high prescription?

My eyesight is something like 20-720 (800?) uncorrected with mild astigmatism. I like the look of windsor-style (John Lennon) eyeglasses. Never worn those before. Are round lenses practical in my general prescription? How big should I get them for daily wear? I'm used to heavy lenses.

Small round lenses will give you the thinnest lenses possible. If you have very much astigmatism. you should select some that are not exactly round or have the optician put a mark on the lens so you can tell if it has rotated. Lenses for astigmatism need to be turned correctly.

probably the best choice of shape if you want thin lens. Just make sure the round shape is not too big.

It'll be lighter and thinner than rectangular shapes.
