Prognosis is based upon the stage (spread) of the cancer and other characteristics such as hormone receptor and HER2 status. When breast cancer is caught early (stage 0 or 1) the long term survival rate is 99%+. Regionalized cancer (stage 2 and 3) has somewhat less favorable outcomes.

You can learn more about cancer treatment and prognosis at the attached website:

No one knows how long someone gets to live. The best we can do is a general guess by the information we have on other people with the same condition, but you don’t say what that is. We need to know what kind of cancer she had, the grade, the stage, tumor size and hormone receptor status. All I can tell you based on the information provided is she would have a better prognosis if she were 60 or 70 years old than she does at 40. Also, because of this you and if you have any sisters need to start screening when you are 30 years old.

there is no way to know. Chemo is malpractice, and damages the immune system, so it shortens life.
