Adam, yes, racism had a lot to do with the criminalization of marijuana in the US. Go read your history. It was made illegal in the 1930s, by the first dea agents. It was a very racist campaign, and no one even tried to hide it - they didnt have to back then, it was socially acceptable to be racist. The actually used phrases like it makes the mexicans and blacks rape the white women in their campaigns.
As far as use with leukemia... She needs to talk to her doctor about that above all. She shouldnt be smoking it at all.. she should use a vaporizer at least, cooking in food would be better. If she is currently taking treatment and her blood counts are low, it could pose some risks if she is neutropenic, since it contains bacteria, fungi, and probably chemicals all from the growing process.
Although, really, if not smoked, its pretty tame compared to all the meds, including the narcotics, that I was rx'ed during treatment.

well my girlfriend has leukemia she has had it since she was 11 years old. I know that smoking weed alone doesnt cause cancer even if it has carcinogens that tobacco has that causes cancer but the thc in weed actually over powers those chemicals thats why you dont hear of people getting cancer from weed alone but if any one could tell me if its ok for her to smoke weed than that would be great i just dont want to tell her yes and then have something bad happen. I dont know if anybody will know the answer to this but please be fair to marijuana if you believe its bad for you please read the facts first and know that marijuana's only illegal because of racism thank you.

Your logic is very flawed. Just because THC is present doesn't mean that it 'overpowers' other chemicals. You inhale all the chemicals and you suffer all the effects of each chemical you inhale. Smokers of only pot tend to have lower lung cancer rates than those who smoke cigarettes as pot smokers don't tend to smoke a pack a day like tobacco smokers do. It basically comes down to the fact that pot smokers are only inhaling about 1/20th or less of the crap that tobacco smokers are.
Still doesn't make it very safe though.
Is it safe for her to smoke pot? I think she should talk to her doctor about that. Like any drug it's not the smartest thing to do. I say this as a Canadian who supported the decriminalization of marijuana and advocate for marijuana legalization as I do agree that it is safer than other legalized drugs such as alcohol and tobacco. But like any other toxin, it's not the wisest to take into your body especially when you're talking about someone who already has very compromised health. She should be doing everything in her power to stay as healthy as she can, and that means not smoking marijuana. Or drinking. Or using tobacco products. Her life is on the line here, so at the very least she should be discussing this with her doctor.
