NOOOOO it is highly contagious!!! Consult a doctor to find out how long between symptoms you must wait before even thinking about it.

Once someone catches it they have it for life so don't inflict that on anyone. Treatment involves using an anti-viral cream/tablets until all the sore are gone, it's not normally expensive. You need to treat it everytime it flares up and don't touch the sores if possible. Keep your hands clean or it will spread!

Don't kiss, share a drink/towel/anything with someone if you have a cold sore. I literally mean you have a separate plate/cup/cutlery until it's cleared.

EDIT: If you dated someone else with Herpes you'd just cause flair up's in each other if you did have sex while the virus was active. The medical bills would soon add up. Once infected that's as bad as it gets so you can't make it 'worse' but if you have sores you'd still need to be careful not to spread it to each other

Yes, but you should only date other people who have herpes (they have special dating sites) or be prepared to warn a new partner before you get to the bedroom.

As for oral herpes, most people have it and it's not a big deal, a lot of us don't even get symptoms. It's OK to kiss if you GET cold sores, just not if you HAVE a cold sore or think you're getting one. And def stay away from babies if you have one because they can get pretty bad rashes from their first exposure.

Purrfect : We should only date people who have herpes?! Oh wow!

Yes, people with genital herpes are able to still have a normal sex life.

I have genital herpes and a lot of my male friends who don't have it are still interested in dating me and they are fully aware I have it.

Yes, genital herpes is contagious and more so during an outbreak. But if genital herpes is caught early on and the medication is taken properly you can pretty much suppress outbreaks. And the chances of transmitting herpes in between outbreaks is reduced.

Plus there is medication out there that prevents the transmission of genital herpes. People really need to get more educated on it before they make ridiculous comments like we should only date HSV-2 positive people.
