can you take advil for occipital neuralgia?

    I have had a pain behind the left ear for 3 months and had xrays. I was told that I had 3 bone spurs on my spine a degenerative disk in my neck and atheritis. Is there anything to get rid of the pain and can I take advil for an amount of time for inflammation with out side effects

    Your pain in the ear does not likely have a connection to disc degeneration or the arthritis; it is a completely separate issue - see the doctor again about this.
    Ask these medication questions of your doctor or pharmacist.
    Normally though, Advil should be okay for the purpose of reducing inflammation.
