what are the chances of getting hiv from an 8th grader???? i think i got poked with one of my friends lancets that fell out of his case because he wasnt near the proper disposal unit. i dont know if i got poked with it for sure, but the next morning on my hand i noticed a 3mm (---) dot on the side of my middle finger, the lower part of it. it had like a riggid slice going diagonaly through it. i pulled the top layer of skin off and there was clear fluid under it. i did not see any blood near it at all, it was jst a red dot 3 mm in diameter. maybe even 4. tbh im not realy woried but fairly woried. any answers would be nice.
we are good kids, im 99.9999999999% sure he doesnt do drugs, hes smart, probly hasnt had relations.

ummm...you didnt state if he has hiv?
if he has hiv....then unless you get direct blood to blood transfer you wont get it. hiv dies within seconds outside the body....i'd be more worried about hepatitis as that lives for about 9 days outside the body..
i am assuming you are asking as you know that he has hiv though

  4. 1) Age doesn't matter, anyone can have HIV
    2) HIV only lives seconds from it's host, it probably died before it reached you.
    3) Small cuts like paper cuts heal from the inside out, the cut may have already been part healed enough to block it out.
    4) The only way the lancet would've passed HIV is if there was very fresh blood on it.

I wouldn't worry if I was you. If you are REALLY worried, tell your parents and get a test in a few months (because thats how long it takes.)

I personally, worry about health things all the time, but not even this would worry me.
