So at 11:09 P.M., I was at a friend's house and I suddenly felt really dizzy. I went to the bathroom and coughed so hard that there was blood coming out. I felt dizzier and vomited some blood. My friend was worried and told me to call my parents to go home. What does it mean if I started to cough up blood?
At Carly, since you're a level one, I disagree of what your opinion is. I mean, how can I still be alive if you think that I'm "dying" so quickly? I believe that Ericka should get the best answer since Carly isn't specific enough, and that the other two answers are considered spam.
At Matante, I agree with yor answer too.

YOUR DYING!

From the way you describe it, it sounds like there's enough blood to justify going to the ER. It you had just blood-tainted saliva after coughing hard, it could be small blood vessels broken by irritation in your throat. But if there is enough blood to vomit it out, it's more alarming and you shouldn't let it stay untreated.

First, you need to tell us the color and consistency of the blood. Was it bright red? If so, it is of a relatively local origin, and may have come from irritated/sore/ruptured blood vessels in your throat or upper respiratory system. This happens especially when you cough very hard or for a prolonged period of time. Alternatively, if it was brown or darker, this would indicate less fresh blood, perhaps from a deposit in your lungs when an injury occurred to them recently. If you feel any shortness of breath, continue to cough up large quantities, or it otherwise persists, go to the Emergency Department immediately. If not, I would suggest you make an appointment with you usual doctor to have it checked out and be more thoroughly screened.
