Are you sure it's not just the muscle tissue in your breasts? If it is breast cancer, it would feel hard and you wouldn't be able to move it around at all. Give yourself a breast exam (there are instructions online) and compare how each breast feels. If they feel the same and you don't have a lump that feels hard and immobile, kind of like a rock, then you are most likely fine. Besides, I'm guessing that you are in high school or middle school, and generally people your age don't get breast cancer.

Your teacher and your Mother are probably right. I suggest you get some medical advice for your own peace of mind also It doesn't do to ignore lumps and bumps.

If the lumps are about the size of a tennis ball, I would suggest that you check with your doctor or do mammograph test.

Please be aware that breast tumor can happen to anyone, even to a young gal like you.
Do you have close relatives or family member who has cancer?
Because some breast cancer are heredited.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. However, I highly doubt you have cancer sweetie, it was probably just a pimple or some nipple discharge. Gross as it sounds, it's actually pretty common. If this persists, I would recommend seeing a doctor, if for no other reason but to ease your mind. :)

You are old enough to phone your doctor. If too embarrassed, ask a sister if you have one. A full check up is needed. Feel the breast for anything strange like a lump.

    Kelsey,

I don't have any medical knowledge. However, anytime there is liquid/a bump involved, it is always best to see a doctor. I wouldn't panic. The body does a lot of weird things sometimes. However, not to scare you, but you never know, and it would best if you went to a doctor. I hope this helped.

  11. The best thing you can do is go see a doctor or call your doctor and just explain what is going on. Feel around your breast to make sure you dont feel any lumps. Cancer is always possible theres no age limit on who can get it, but try not to worry too much. When I was younger (probably 15) and I was planning on having surgery the doctor wanted to do a breast exam and I thought she was crazy bc I was so young, but she said the youngest person she knows of that got breast cancer was 13yr old.

First - if a 14 year old had breast cancer her case would make international news; it would also be written up in medical journals the world over, as it would be of huge interest to the medical profession - few of the world's doctors have seen anyone under 20 with breast cancer, let alone a young teenager.

Your chances of breast cancer at 14 are much smaller than your chances of being struck by lightning.

Breast cancer is almost unheard of in under 25s, and fewer than 0.1% of all those diagnosed with it are under 30. It's rare in women under 40, in fact; most people diagnosed with it (80%) are over 50.

In fact, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer I was classed as a 'younger woman'; I was 50 - still pretty young for breast cancer.

You mention 'bumps' on your left breast; breast cancer lumps are within the breast, not on it. And it is discharge from the nipple that is sometimes a sign of breast cancer. If you have a 'bump' that has a yellow liquid coming from it, it's a boil or a zit. It is NOT breast cancer. Even discharge from the nipple would be unlikely to be anything to worry about at your age.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. But hereditary cancer is rare - fewer than 10% of all cancer cases, all types, are hereditary. Only 5 - 10% of breast cancer cases are hereditary - and even in those rare cases, it doesn't affect 14 year olds.

Talk to your school nurse about this; she will be used to girls having worries like this, and she will be able to reassure you that you DO NOT have breast cancer.
