diabetes high blood pressure?

    my blood pressure has ben high but not realy high my highest was over 86 but i read that untreated diabetes could cause high blood pressure but if it was would my blood pressure be high and stay high? mine was normal today while i was at the doctor wouldnt they test me for diabetes if they felt i was at risk or had it maybe

  2. Diabetes doesn't necessarily cause high blood pressure, but it can.

    The 86 you mentioned is in the normal range, and not high.

    Unless you report to the doctor diabetic symptoms, they usually won't test for it.

    Poorly managed diabetes can cause damage to your blood vessels and in turn, have an effect on your blood pressure. If you're worried, have a fasting glucose test and you can go from there. Diabetes and high blood pressure aren't always related, you can have one without the other.
