Did I catch a cold sore from my boyfriend?

(2 posts)
  1. My boyfriend thinks he has a cold sore on the inside of his bottom lip. It's really big (he says he thinks there were three and they combined together to make a bigger one) and he's had it since Monday. It's not hurting him anymore and SEEMS to be getting smaller, but it's still there.

Since he had that sore, I only kiss him on the other side of the mouth and we haven't been doing any deep/french kissing since he's had it. However, I woke up this morning and when I brushed my teeth, I felt a little jab of pain. So I ran my tongue along the inner side of my lower lip, and there's a tiny bump. It's doesn't hurt just touching it and it just looks like a tiny pink bump when I saw it in the mirror.

I was looking up cold sores and found a website that says if a sore occurs on the soft tissue of the mouth, it's most likely not a cold sore, but a canker sore. BUT, it said canker sores aren't contagious. I'm kind of freaked out because I know cold sores are caused by the herpes virus and I also know that my boyfriend's hurt for a long time and he could barely eat.

Do you think I caught this sore from him? Or is it most likely something else? I know you guys aren't doctors, but a cold sore isn't really something to go to the doctor for. If it is a cold sore, what's the best treatment for it if it gets worse?

Cold sores (fever blisters) are HAV1 and HAV2, the same exact the as the genital herpes; yes they are VERY contagious, normally the only cause that gives them to break out is STRESS attack just like what causes HAV and genital warts that have gone dormant to come out of hiding.

Look at this site it will tell you a lotof good information:
