Possibly found a lump? But it disappeared..!?

I am a 17 year old Female, showering i safely checked myself for any lumps & bumps, im uncertain but i may of found a lump in my left breast though seconds later i checked again & i could not find it, i continued to do the same routine of checking but i still could not find anything. I am not the most open person so i do not feel comfortable talking to my Mum or booking a doctors appointment especially if its a false alarm, i mean i cant find it, its gone? Advice?

Don't freak out! You are very young, and it is probably nothing! But it is fantastic that you are checking your breasts for lumps and bumps. Keep in mind that the breasts change a little bit throughout the menstrual cycle. So they may feel different at different types of the month. You should note when you are checking Your breasts and what time of the month it is. If you consistently feel the lump, then yes, for sure you should go to the Dr. But if it something that you only feel one day a month, it could be related to your period. Then you would just want to jot it down and mention it the next time you are at the Dr's.

Even though you are not an "open person" please consider this serious enough to see a doctor. A false alarm is what you best possible result. Sometimes we need to step outside our comfort zone as we journey through life. You are an important and loved person. Please do not let this slide.
