do doctors place the breathing tube down one's throat before or after anesthesia before a surge

    After. Only in extreme life threatening emergencies do they have to do it before, but even then they give you a sedative. Don't worry, during a planned surgery they do it after.

    After ! Holy crap that would be horrid while you are awake. Just thinking about it makes me sick.

    do you know how hard it would be to do it with you wide awake? even when its a life or death situation they give you a sedative before doing it.
    they put it in AFTER you are asleep and BEFORE you wake up. (only if you are in critical condition and are staying in the hospital do they leave it in after the surgery is done)
