Do you have to get a shot for fillings on your teeth ?

    My sis is really scared of shots and she wanted to no if she has to get any shots ?

    yes, she will be getting a shot to numb the pain. Believe me, she will want it. Most Dentists numb the inside of your cheek with a goo, then give you a shot to numb the pain.

    YES. Tell your sister that the reason she has to get a shot is to numb her tooth nerve(s). To get a filling done, the dentist must drill away all the cavity decay and if she doesn't get the shot to numb her tooth, without it, she will be in more pain. Depending on how deep the cavity decay is, the dentists will usually ALWAYS give a shot to numb the tooth because, if the dentist were to hit that nerve in the tooth, oh dear God, it will hurt like there's no tomorrow.

    Im deathly afraid of the dentist but if they just give me lots and lots of shots, I will be fine =)

    Depends on dentist. Mine never did and i had four fillings done. At the same time with no pain meds. It hurts but if you can just breathe thru your nose and zone out its okay. Tell her to try some yoga breathing to prepare for it.
