I know you wish she could be but doctors and tests are not often wrong. Also herpes is not a death sentence, it may not feel like it right now but there is life after herpes. I think you miss read my answer before, you can have sex again even if you have herpes your not doomed to be lonely for the rest of your life.
HIV/AIDS is not related to herpes. Men can carry the virus with out having a lot of symptoms, this is how some people have it with out knowing it. Most of the time with herpes you feel normal until you have a break out. If he wasn't tested for herpes, he wouldn't know for sure if he has herpes or not.
Wearing a condom wouldn't have mattered. Condoms don't offer very good protection against herpes because they don't cover all of the skin down there that herpes can affect. If he is willing to get tested then make him get tested for herpes when he gets back.Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm awfully sorry, but if your GP and gynae have both looked at you and suggested herpes, there is a 99% chance that that is what you have. It's manageable, you'll have to be careful during flare ups and you must inform sexual partners, but if you care for yourself properly it needn't rule your life.
Wait for the swabs, you might be worrying about nothing. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
PS It goes without saying that this is the end of unprotected sex for you. Make 'no glove, no love' your new mantra!
