Does sunblock cause skin cancer?

    i think shes wrong =l that sounds kinda stupid, doesnt it prevent you from getting skin problems? xD

    as far as I know, it's not true. It's possible to get cancer because of the mutations in your DNA because of UV radiation, which can lead to cancer.
    In every cell of your body is stored DNA, which contains all your genetic information (not only the information for the specific part of your body (like information for "hair" in your hair) but of every single part of you). If you get burned by the sun, a part of your DNA can be damaged, which can lead to mutations. This doesn't have to be bad, because there's strong possibility that the information for your hair color is damaged in a skin cell (a skin cell doesn't use the information for your hair color). In some cases, however, the mutations in your DNA caused by UV radiation can cause skin cancer. (that happens when the information for your skin is damaged).
    sunscreen stops UV radiation from penetrating through your skin, so that your DNA is safe. So it wards cancer of in stead of causing it!

    Sun is not good for you if you get to much. If you want to tan and be in the sun that is possible you just need to read what is the best sunblock for you. But it's better to be pale and no tan then to be dark and have cancer.Good luck and have a great summer!

    I recently researched this same issue. I did find information that suggests certain chemicals in sunscreen can cause cancer. I switched to a chemical free sunscreen and it works just as well. But the best thing to do is to pull out your bottle of sunscreen and search the chemicals online. You'll find a lot of sites on this issue; you'll just have to form your own opinions.

    Sunblock does not cause skin cancer.

    However, chemicals in sunblock could increase the chance of a mutation that could cause cancer.
