Since Saturday, I've been feeling kind of sick with a sore throat, stuffy nose, cough, headache, and a hoarse voice. When I took my temperature this evening, it was at 99.7, and I was just wondering, would this be considered a fever? Also, I have a newborn baby and I was wondering if I should still be breastfeeding if I am sick? Okay thanks in advance!

"It is very, very rare for a mom to need to stop breastfeeding for any illness. There are only a few very serious illnesses that might require a mom stop breastfeeding for a period of time or permanently...During any "ordinary" illness such as a cold, sore throat, flu, tummy bug, fever, mastitis, etc. you should continue to breastfeed."
In Breastfeeding made Simple, the author provides studies indicating the benefits of breastfeeding while sick. The illness the mother has is most likely already present in the child and the antibodies produced by the mother to this illness will get passes through the breastmilk for the child; Its your own medicine.
Keep up the good work, there nothing more beneficial for you and your baby than breastmilk.
