Over 60 kinds of HPV. only 4 are a problem. Check with pre-existing clause with insurance though.

genital warts are caused by HPV and they can not be treated
the HPV that causes genital warts is type 6 and 8 the thing is this HPV also predisposes to cancer of the cervix but it is a diffrent type from that which causes warts depanding on the country of origin
so your answer is if you really have warts you have HPV infection but it is unlikely to cause cervical cancer which what i guess you fearPosted 2 years ago # -
Warts are caused by the HPV virus, even the ones you get on your hands and feet but they are all different strains of HPV like the usual ones that cause warts are types 6 and 11, and the usual kinds which cause cervical cancer are types 16 and 18 i believe. The virus is definitely not deadly at all. The only way it can kill you with the medical advances we have no, is if you had the high risk types (cancer causing types) and you didnt get it treated. Thats why your supposed to go for annual pap tests. Cancer usually takes a long time to develop on the cervix but precancerous cells show up much sooner so if you go for your annual paps, any of these abnormalities can be found and treated.
Warts on the other hand are just like warts anywhere else but they are called and STI because this strain spreads on and in the genitals only. If your doctor diagnosis them as warts than theres many treatment options you can go abouts to get them removed and youll have an internal exam to look for hidden ones. Some people only have warts once while others have outbreaks a few times. Doctors hope that when removing the warts they reduce the virus load, this hasnt been proven.
My doctor told me that if i ever get HPV not to worry they treat the warts than your immune system will keep the virus in check (dormant- kept to low undetectable, untransmittable levels) but this isnt the same for everyone. Thats why if your diagnosed ALWAYS follow up with your doctor every 3-6 months. Until proven clear.
Youll be fine theyll check you out tell you if you have anything than give you all the info you need. The types which cause warts dont cause cancer. Also look into the Gardasil shot :) I wish you luck email me if you need any more help.Posted 2 years ago #
