I had all four of my wisdom teeth cut out when I was 18. They put me completely out. The next day I started my first day of college. My jaw was swollen and tender for a few days, but it wasn't that bad. They gave me vicoden and I only took a couple the first day and didn't even use the rest. I ate ice cream the first day and after that just some softer foods. I just made sure to chew carefully and more toward the front of my mouth. You should be perfectly fine for finals on Friday. It was a piece of cake for me, but I guess everyone is different.

"I'm getting it pulled out Wednesday so would I be able to go back by Friday at least? "

You should be fine by Friday. The only time wisdom tooth work is really painful is when they are impacted.

"And what kind of prescription did they prescribe you?"

I didn't need one. Ibuprofen is great for mouth pain. I doubt you will need an opiate.

"what did you eat for couple days?"

Pudding, soup, instant breakfast, yogurt. You can't smoke (hopefully you don't anyway). You don't want to disturb the blood clots. Fortunately, the mouth heals quickly. I think I had to eat soft food for 3 days. In about 2 weeks I was completely back to normal. The key is not disturbing the clots. If you do the wounds can become irritated and you can end up with dry socket.

This is very unlikely if you follow the recovery instructions they give you.
