Help?! What does it mean when there is blood in your vomit?

    I have bulimia. I have been throwing up since I was 13 and I am 16 now.

    A few minutes ago while purging, I saw about a teaspoon and a half of blood in my vomit. What does this mean? Is it serious?!

    You have irritated your stomach and esophagus, bulimia is serious you need help.

    it means you're having a stomach ulcer and should lay off the booze.
    ...no seriously you should see a doctor that's not very normal if it happens all the time.

    It sound like your bulimia has really started to take its toll on your stomach. The digestive acid from your stomach comes up and out every time you purge. Eventually, the acid eats away at your esophageal lining, causing bleeding ulcers in your esophagus and stomach. There are over-the-counter meds that can help heal your stomach, like a daily regiment of Zantac. They won't work though if you keep purging. Ultimately, the bulimia has to stop. It only gets worse from here...

    I am sorry but it is serious, It means that some body organ is hemorrhaging and needs fast attention. You may have broken a blood vessel. Are you being treated for your Bulimia. If not please talk to your doctor about getting the help that you need. First you should go to the er and find out what is causing the bleeding. It may not be serious but it is a sign that your body can't take much more of your purging. You are not getting any of the vitamins and nutrients that you body and it's organs need for you to survive. The first sign usually is the burning away of the esophagus caused by the constant acid coming out of your mouth. This is called Barrettes Disease and can lead to Cancer. Please get the help that you need.

Please you have more courage and strength than you believe and you can get the help you need. You have nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed of because you have no control over this.     Get yourself to a doctor/hospital asap. You probably have an ulcer, but if there's a lot of blood you may have a rupture of the esophagus, which is life-threatening. Keep an eye on your heart rhythms as bulimia causes heart arrhythmia, which is also potentially fatal.

    Basically the blood is a warning sign that your digestive system can't cope any more - you need to get help before you do more damage. Please see a doctor.

    You can rupture your esophagus and/or your stomach....you are probably close to doing this.
    If it ruptures, your family will find you dea2d hovering over the toilet.

    This is very serious. Please seek treatment before it is too late.

    It could be an ulcer, like was suggested. Also, it could be because you scratched the back of your throat when you were making yourself vomit. In any case, you should probably tell someone close to you.
