how accurate are home glucose meters?

    They have the same technology as in-office meters. I have never found inaccuracy to be a problem. You just need to watch what and when you eat more closely. Usually below 6-70 you can start feeling weak and jittery. Have a small snack when you feel it approaching.

  2. yes they r not 100% accurate , but some of them can give u 90% readings ! like accu-check go ( made in germany ) . if u read that ur blood sugar is 50s means u must have symptoms of low blood-sugar .. like quick heart-beat and dizziness .. etc then u can know it is accurate .

    Probably +/- 20% or so, but it is unpredictable.

    I use two different meters from time to time, and sometimes check on both from the same finger stick. Sometimes the readings are within a couple of points from each other - like 92 and 95. Other times they are 20 or more points different. But one does tend to read higher than the other in most cases.
