When you reduce the amount of calories you eat and increase the amount of calories you burn (aka diet and exercise), your body burns up stored fats for energy. Your body will choose where to pull the fat from, and you cannot control it. You can do stomach exercised to strengthen those muscles, but it's not going to make the fat disappears specifically from that area.
