I just quit for 14 days because I was staying in a hotel that would fine me $250 cleaning fee if I smoked in the room.
But I started again.
I've quit about a dozen times. It never sticks.
Just cut down as much as possible. You can smoke 3 or 4 cigarettes per day and will not suffer any adverse affects.
If you really REALLY wanted to quit you could get yourself arrested in a county that has a non smoking jail. Commit a crime serious enough to get yourself 30 days or so and don't bail out.

Poke holes in the filters of your smokes. mores holes in each pack as you go along. as your carton goes down, the amount of holes increase, getting less smoke per cig. by the end, you're smoking air.
you should buy those chewing gums that help you stop smoking in the walmart pharmacy section. they are pretty costly like around 20$ for a pack of 24 but i can tell you. i chewed them for 3 months and now i don't feel the need to stop smoking it's been over 1 year so ya
I think the reason is we just get use to something always being in our mouth all the time. When I want a cigarette, I usually chew a piece of gum, or suck on a lolly pop. Keep your hands busy. Pick up a hobby. Go out for a walk, jog, bike ride, etc. Keep your mind off the cigarettes. Write down your pro's for making this choice. It saves money, you'll be spending money on more things that benefit yourself, you're not killing yourself, etc. Quitting cold turkey is hard. I know it's been hard for me and I'm guilt of still smoking. But the main reason is, STAY AWAY from people that smoke. I know for a fact that I was trying to avoid smoking and I was around a group of friends and they were smoking and it made me go crazy. And my boyfriend smokes, (we're trying to quit together). You can do it.
There is only one way. Just stop that's it. Do anything but do not smoke. It is very difficult agreed, but not impossible. If you are addicted it will take you around 15 days or more to get used to it. Once you stop you'll fell much better, you will feel lighter in your mind and think clearer. Then the urge t smoke will go away completely. Best of luck!!
