how is breast cancer linked to obesity?

    It's not. At least, it hasn't been proven. Breast cancer has no preference of weight or age. No one knows what causes breast cancer or what makes one person more prone than another.

    I believe the theory is that obesity increases the female hormone estrogen and higher estrogen levels are linked to breast cancer.

    Obesity increases the risk of most cancers generally, but some studies have shown that possible changes in oestrogen levels (that can fluctuate with weight because fat stores oestrogen) may play a part in the development of abnormal cells. Obese women generally have higher levels of oestrogen in their body.
