I went a long time, too long. I would go to a clinic or something. It should just require an easy test to at least check your blood sugar. You can get some medication at Sam's Club for a pretty low cost.

You'll survive, but you'd want to know as soon as possible. Depending on type, if 1 you'd need insulin therapy, 2 diet modifications. The effects of diabetes are severe if not managed (Blindness, diabetic neuropathy, hypoglycaemia,MAJOR cardiovascular risk factor) so you are better off in the long run getting it checked out. If you have family members who are diabetes sufferers they may have blood-glucose testing machines and test strips, check your blood glucose a few hours after a meal. It should be between 3.8-5.5mmol/L (Australian units) 3hrs post-meal, if much greater than that I'd suggest going to a doctor, or until then some diet modification.

Well, you can live al your life without being diagnosed if you never to to a doctor (since diagnosis means to have a stated proof of having a disease), but that doesn't mean you don't have it or you wont suffer complications regarding the disease. If you die tomorrow due to renal failure (very common problem with daibetics), you could say you went undiagnosed all your life

The more time you let pass, the more amount of complications you're going to have in a future. Having an amputated leg due to necrosis caused by infection due to diabetic vasculopathy and neuropathy, being blind due to diabetic retinopahty or having a heart attack from diabetic crdiopathies (most common cause of death between diabetic patients) is not really nice to have mate, so if I was you I'd AT LEAST pay the GP consultation and get a fasting glicemia exam to have things checked out and start treatment as soon s possible

You can put it off for maybe 10 to 20 years!! for sure it will be harder on your bod and make you hurt much longer, but what the heck!! You and your parents are being stupid about this. There are low cost clinics all over the place and lack of insurance will not mitigate the problem.

Some people have gone for 40 years without diagnosing or if they were diagnosed, ordered the Rx's from a foreign pharmacy without going back to their doctors for the same period of time expecting that this will save them.

So don't bother with going. Penalties are: heart damage, macular degeneration, liver damage, kidney damage - dialysis, periferal neuropathy - extreme pain in feet and legs, and more!
