How long does insulin last in a syringe?

(3 posts)
  1. My mother and I use insulin and she is leaving to another state for 2 days. We use insulin from the same bottle. I was wondering if I could leave a few syringes with my insulin in the fridge so she can take the bottle with her. Thank you in advanced.

When I was using the vial and syringe I habitually spent Sunday evenings preparing my syringes for the coming week. I have a very hard time waking up in the mornings to take the morning injection so for safety sake was doing all the prep work one evening when the light and my eyes were working correctly.

Just be very careful recapping the needle so you don't blunt or bend it. Blunted it hurts like the devil.

If she is flying, put the insulin, syringes and any other necessary meds in a zip lock bag along with her snacks. Do NOT depend on the flight to be on time!! Always have some snackies available. This does not count as a carry-on. Do NOT put it in luggage, it could freeze then be no good. And luggage has a nasty habit of getting on the wrong plane too.
