How old do you have to be to buy cough syrup where you live?

    welll i live in wisconsin, raids WI the worst town/state ever.
    so im guessing either 18 or 21.
    but my mom went to get normal allergy pills and they were for sleeping and she carded and they said 40 also... it changes one time you can be 16 buying cough syrup the nextyou have to 60.
    its ridculus.
