How sever is an allergic reaction to drugs?

    Ask the doctor. If he seems nonchalant, ask your pharmacist.
    Ask a few professionals if you're worried.

    This side effect is common. It might get progressively worse if you keep taking the drug. You run a small risk of having a serious allergic reaction if you continue the drug. Docs generally advise people to discontinue the medication when this side effect occurs. Sometimes docs have the patient take Benedryl along with the medication, but this is not a practical solution in most cases since the combination of drugs makes it very difficult to stay awake. You might be better off taking Alleve and Tylenol together as an alternative. Call the doc's office to get advice.

    Allergies to meds tend to only get worse so I would call your doctor. Meds take longer to build up in your system. I know it took my son 8 days before he reacted the first time.
