It's 3:32 a.m. and ever since me and my boyfriend lost our jobs we have been sleeping later and later.
Before this we use to sleep at 10:00 pm but now somehow we kept sleeping and later knowing that we would sleep in anyway. Okay we are not lazy we have applied for many jobs i myself over 45 and nothing. I use to make 16.04 / per hour working for the county as a receptionist. The point is im not lazy lol..

But now our usual bed time is 6 a.m. [[crazy]] and we wake up at 1:00 p.m. I really dont like this but I've tried staying up all day to sleep at 10:00 but got so sleepy.

Anyone have any suggestions. Please and thank you =]

The fast way, which you have already tried it seems, is to stay up 30 hours straight before sleeping again. (This way is also not very healthy, as you probably guessed, because of the sleep deprivation.)

There's two ways you could try:

ONE: Wake up at 1:00 pm, like normal, and then try and stretch the time you're awake by a couple hours, perhaps to 8:00 am. Then make sure you're waking up again after 7 or 8 hours, let's say around 3:00 pm this time, and then stay up until 10:00 am. Keep doing this until you are back on a normal sleep schedule, which theoretically should be in 7 to 9 days. The theory is that humans are meant to stay up for 15 to 17 hours at a time before sleeping for 7 to 9 hours. But some of us have body schedules that work naturally with a 25+ hour day, which leads us to staying up later and messing up our sleep schedules. So if you stay up a little later, like 19 or 20 hours, then you can re-correct your sleep schedule, slowly but surely and still get a full night's (or day's, lol) sleep.

TWO: Go to sleep at 6:00 am. Wake up after 5 hours of sleep, around 11:00 am (if you can). Around 1:00 am or so, you should be sleepy, so go ahead and sleep and try to wake up no later than 8 or 9 am. Then make sure you go to sleep before midnight and to get no more than 8 hours of sleep a night. This way is faster, but it can be hard forcing yourself to get up after only 5 hours of sleep initially. If you can force yourself through it, you can correct your schedule in two days. Just make sure you get yourself to sleep at the same time every day and spend an hour before you sleep winding down by reading or watching some quiet TV or a movie.

    Good luck!
