Acne medicines usually make my acne worse because they dry my skin out. if your skin is too dry, it overproduces oil and causes acne. Keep your skin moisturised and drink LOTS of water. If it doesn't help, ask your mom to take you to a dermatologist.

umm wash your facce morning and night. and use noxzema pads. they work amazingly. but wash your face first!!

the only products you really need are a good cleanser, toner and moisturizer. buy stuff that is for your skin type. there are also a lot of products that are specifically for acne, e.g. an acne face wash vs. a regular cleanser, get the acne products. just washing your face every day and following that up with toner and moisturizer will really improve your acne a lot.

Do you wear foundation/bronzer/cover up?
I know that whenever I break out, it's because I didn't wash my foundation off before I went to sleep.
An easy way to let your pores breath is just to get a washcloth, and while in the shower or before bed wet it, put SHAMPOO or FACE WASH on it and wash your face. shampoo is purposely designed not to harm your face since it gets so close when washing your hair. Never ever use hand soap, or regular soap on your face. It makes it worse.
Clean & Clear Face Washes are the best to work with.Another way is to get cheap versions of proactive at meijers, the chemical formula's are the same.

well even though i still have acne here's the best way to deal with it. and the only reason y i still have it is because im lazy
drinks lots of water
wash ur face twice a day everyday
use an effective pimple zapper(try brands like neutrogena or clean and clear)
i would advise to stay away from proactive because i heard ur skin will get addicted to it.try not to touch ur face.
and dont get stressed out
stay away from fatty foods.
eat lots of greens vegetable and fruit.
stay away from sugary foods.
and try experiment with many different scrubs and pimple zappers.
clense ur face then crack an egg open. separates the whites from the yolk then put the whites all over ur face. let it dry then wash it off.(this will shrink ur pores)then use the yolk as a toner afterwards then let it dry then wash it off.
and thats pretty much i can think off

I have hear that if you crush uncoated aspirin and add a teeny weeny bit of water and put it on your pimple and leave it on for 5-10 min. it helps immensely, and I wish I could tell you if it was true, but I have never tried it! Hope this helps and best of luck!

Step 1
One of the most popular home remedies is to put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed .Make sure it is the paste and not the gel.
Step 2
Place strawberry leaves on the acne ,the alkalinity helps reduce the swelling.
Step 3
These are one of the smellier home remedies for getting rid of a pimple overnight.Crush a couple of garlic cloves and dabbed on the face 1-2 times daily.
Step 4
Grind orange peel with some water to a paste and apply on the pimple.Your pimple should disappear overnight or become less visible.
Step 5
Mix 1 teaspoon of finely ground cinnamon powder and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and apply to your pimples frequently this should also do the trick.
Step 6
Put ice on the pimple before going to bed ,by morning it should be noticeably smaller. This works best on larger pimples that have not yet formed a head.
Step 7
Mix mint juice with turmeric powder and apply on affected area.Leave for about 15 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.
Step 8
Combine together in a bowl some vinegar and salt in a bowl, dab this mixture on your pimples ,leave for about 15-20 minutes and the rinse off.
Step 9
Grind some nutmeg with milk and apply to affected area, this will make your pimples vanish without leaving any marks.Poof and it is gone.
Step 10
Apply juice of raw papaya including the skin and seed on swelling acne to get rid of overnight.
Step 11
Apply the pulp from ripe tomatoes on your blemish and leave for a hour, then wash and get rid of your pimple overnight.
Step 12
Apply grated potatoes on the skin to treat pimples and reduce swelling.
Step 13
Follow any one of the instructions above ,I am sure one will work for you and good luck. You going to need it because some pimples are very stubborn.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree from Australia. It is very effective against Acne as it contains bacteria-fighting substances called Terpenes. Acne is often caused by bacteria and the Terpenes either outright kill them or weaken them enough to be destroyed by protective antibodies. There are very little side effects from using Tea Tree Oil.Aloe Vera
The watery gel from Aloe Vera plant is also a highly effective natural cure against Acne. The enzyme-rich gel has very soothing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can also be taken internally and helps clean up and detox the digestive tract. This in turn can help clear up the skin.Zinc
Zinc is taken in the form of capsules. It helps to strengthen the human immune system and to repair the skin.Vitamin A
Vitamin A tablets are also a natural and effective Acne cure. Vitamin A promotes healthy skin.Vitamin E
Vitamin E also helps in countering Acne. It is a natural antioxidant and beneficial for the skin. Vitamin E comes in soft gelatin capsules that contain Vitamin E, Soybean Oil, Glycerin, and Water. Some Natural Homemade Cures to counter Acne
The most important thing to do if you suffer from Acne is to drink at least four pints of water every day. Drinking a lot of water is very beneficial to your skin. Including fresh fruit and leafy green vegetables in your daily diet will also bring about a marked improvement in the quality of your complexion. Before bathing, apply a mixture of tomato pulp – real tomota pulp, not packaged one – honey and rose-water to your face and keep for twenty minutes before washing off.
At night, before going to bed, apply a mix of cream, glycerine, and lemon juice to your face and again keep it on for a short while before washing.
Regular Yoga exercises will also improve skin and overall health.
Things to Avoid
Avoid touching your face all the time, keep your hair away from your face, and avoid picking at pimples.Another important thing if you're prone to Acne is to avoid using heavy make-up – in fact, it is preferable to avoid make-up altogether. For an effective cure, stay as natural as possible.

I struggled with bad acne since i was 12, now im 21 and my acne is almost nonexistent.. i tried everything. since a year ago my acne cleared up because i realized what realy helps..
PLease please DO NOT USE PRESCRIPTION creams/antibiotics or store products. They make acne worse, even if they are proclaimed "scientifically proven", its all a hoax to make you buy more and more of their products...Do you really think they would be making money if they cleaned up all the acne in people???noo. Also they screw up your body with the chemicals that are inside of the products.
The key to topically helping your acne is using healthy OILS....
What i did to help is use "EVOO OCM" - Google it. its cheap and natural and homemade way of making your skin much MUCH better, moisturized, and acne free. Make sure you follow it thouroughly.. after doing the method i apply a little bit of bronzer/foundation to conceal any imperfections and to protect my skin from dirt in the air.Your hormones will produce acne no matter what, and it will disappear with time...personal experience. This is the cause of your acne, which is what you need to focus on primarily...this is how:
To help your hormones balance out, STOP eating refined sugars like candy and pastries (dark chocolate is good though), sugar, and white breads, and red meat, and junk food like mcdonalds.... TOTALLY, not just eat less of it. These foods mess with your hormones and your body function..they are slowly killing you. You can have them once in a while ONLY AFTER you stay away from them for about 6 months.
Eat plenty of fruit, vegetables and whole grain, fish, lean meats, and drink plenty of water(filtered with a good charcoal water filter, i recommend Zeroo Water filter).I promise you, if you follow my advise you will get better and you will come back to thank me.
GOOD LUCK.. (If you need help or have questions, email me at "jkl2532 at yahoo . com")

There's a risk free trial available at http://dasert.yourfatfree.info I have been taking it for 2 weeks now and it is definately having an effect!!

Ok you and I have some things in common (besides the dietary supplement and food watch). You and I break out in the same area - our cheeks. I even thought of using hydrogen peroxide (rubbing alcohol) on my skin once too but never did. I also read that it is a myth to think that eating fatty food causes break outs and that toothpaste help to alleviate symptoms.
Like you, I thought I had oily skin too. I mean we all associate oily skin with acne right? So I followed the advice of online dermatologist and other professionals by purchasing all these acne products for oily skin. What I found is that firstly, acne solution is a NOT a one size fits all solution. It truly depends on skin type, pH balance, etc, etc. What works for one does not for another. I've tried lemon treatment, Clean and Clear, Biore toner, Lancome creme cleanswers, ProActiv, etc, Clinique Acne treatment, etc. What these products did was aggravate my condition further.
The problem is that I have an oily T zone with very dry cheek zone; therefore, drying it out further only exacerbated the problem. I quit using astringents and any acne products (as they are more drying) and I have increased my moisturizer. I've noticed lately that my skin has been responding very well to the balance. I knew I had dryer cheek areas because I'd moisturize at night and by morning my cheeks are completely dried out. But now I have hardly any breakouts and my little bumps (white heads) are disappearing. Contrary to popular belief, dry skin can cause break outs due to dead skin cells flaking and clogging pores.
Remember too that acne is a hormonal issue and that there is NO cure for it but all products out there only offers to control the symptoms. You mentioned redness and irritation. It may be due to your treatments and/or cleansers. All these treatments seem to work at first (like your Duac) but after awhile, the dryness will make the skin erupt. You never know, your cheeks might be dry like mine and you probalby have combination skin. Now, I just use Clinique Rinse off Cream Cleanser (had great reviews on clearing acne but it's not an acne product and not overly drying) and a moisturizer. That's it...and my skin is reacting to it better. Perhaps it's the balance that my skin needed...my solution is mainly for those with dry cheeks/combination skin with mild to moderate acne.

I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub and I LOVE it. One of the main causes of acne is dead skin cells building up on your skin causing your pores to get clogged causing acne. St. Ives has little beads in it that scrub away your dead skin cells leaving your skin REALLY smooth. The great thing about St. Ives is that it is really inexpensive... and you can get it almost anywhere. Also they offer different kinds. There is one that is made specifically for acne but you may not need it if your acne isn't that bad. I use the regular kind, I think that it is called "invigorating" and it seems to do the trick!
Wash your face when you wake up in the morning to wash off any extra oil that has accumulated while you were sleeping and wash your face before you go to sleep to wash off any make-up that you had on during the day. Make-up clogs pores and also causes acne if not taken off at the end of the day. Also your skin needs time to breath as well. So when you are home and not going out and don't need to get all glammed up, try to avoid make up!
After you wash your face use an oil free moisturizer. Another HUGE mistake people make is thinking that if you use products that dry out your skin then your acne will go away. This is oh so wrong. The dryer your skin gets the more oil it will produce to hydrate itself... to much oil on your skin also clogs your pores and causes acne. So MOISTURIZE!! Hope this helps!

Hi Kes.
Acne - Blackheads & WhiteheadsAcne is the most common skin disease treated by physicians. It is a chronic condition that affects over 85% of adolescents and young adults. One study showed that two-thirds of teenagers with acne wanted to talk to their physician about their acne, but only one-third actually did.
TYPES OF ACNE
Not all acne is the same. Simplistically, acne can be divided into red bumps and blackheads/whiteheads. This division is important because each type is treated differently. Blackheads and whiteheads, known as comedones, can be more numerous on the face and shoulders than red bumps filled with pus. Good, consistent skin hygiene can help improve this condition. Therefore, knowing more about what causes comedones and how to treat them is a step towards clearer skin.WHY DOES ACNE OCCUR ?
BLACKHEADS
Blackheads, also known as open comedones, are follicles that have a wider than normal opening. They are filled with plugs of sebum and sloughed-off cells and have undergone a chemical reaction resulting in the oxidation of melanin. This gives the material in the follicle the typical black color.WHITEHEADS
Whiteheads, also known as closed comedones, are follicles that are filled with the same material, but have only a microscopic opening to the skin surface. Since the air cannot reach the follicle, the material is not oxidized, and remains white.SKIN CARE FOR BLACKHEADS AND WHITEHEADS
The key to skin care for acne is consistency. An overnight cure has not been found. But using good skin care methods aids in the daily, steady improvement of follicle health. Since acne is not caused by eating certain foods, restricting the diet is not helpful. Since it is also not caused by "dirty" skin, excessively scrubbing does not help and can even make the skin more irritated. The best skin care for comedones consists of once-a-day cleansing with a mild soap or facial scrub to aid in the removal of excess sebum and dead skin cells. Oil-based makeup should not be used since these can contribute to the buildup of oil in the follicles. Water-based makeup labeled as non-comedogenic can be used safely.
TREATMENT FOR BLACKHEADS AND WHITEHEADS
Treatment of whiteheads and blackheads takes time. Most treatments take several weeks to months before a noticeable change is seen.BENZOYL PEROXIDE
Benzoyl peroxide has an antibacterial effect and may also decrease the chemical reaction that changes the lining of the hair follicle. This may help reduce the plugging that causes comedones. Benzoyl peroxide may be used for a mild case of comedones or to help prevent formation of others.TRETINOIN (RETIN-A)
Tretinoin (Retin-A, Avita, Renova) is the mainstay of treatment for whiteheads and blackheads. Tretinoin is a derivative of vitamin A and works by increasing cell turnover and reducing the "stickiness" of the sloughed cells. It helps expel the plugged material returning the pore to normal. Tretinoin can be irritating, so specific instructions on how to use it can be found here.ANTIBIOTICS
Prescription topical antibiotics or oral antibiotics might be used if some of the blackheads and whiteheads are infected, but antibiotics do not help with comedones that are not infected.ISOTRETINOIN (ACCUTANE)
Isotretinoin (Accutane) is used for severe cystic acne and has many side effects. It is very effective for comedones when used properly, but is not usually prescribed for mild acne of either type.EXTRACTION
Extraction may be used by a health care provider on open comedones. This process is performed using a device called a comedone extractor. This is a small, metal, circular instrument that is centered on the comedone and pushes down the surrounding skin, causing the plug to extrude.NO NEED TO SUFFER
Whiteheads and blackheads are types of acne that affect many people. There are good treatment options available, so there is no need to suffer with this condition in silence. A primary care provider can initiate treatment for acne and follow mild to moderate cases. Severe cases or those resistant to treatment should be seen by a dermatologist.Regards. Take Care.

Almost every skin treatment for acne takes a couple of months to take full effect. Whether it seems to help right away, make it worse, or just do nothing, you have to stick with it to see what it's really going to do for your skin. Unless, of course, you have some kind of allergic reaction to it. Then you should stop. It sounds like you aren't giving things enough time to see if they will help you. Also, you may want to change doctors.

Have you tried using white out? That's how I get rid of things at school when I make an accident writing with my pen.

Wash your face regularly, use exfoliating cream (Apricot scrub)
If they are blackheads, then get into the habit of exercising heavily, then washing your face directly after wards. That will flush out your pores pretty well.
If they are white heads, or normal pimples, then washing your face twice a day with GENTLE soap will help.
If the soap you use is really harsh, and dries out your skin after using it, then your skin will compensate by producing MORE oil.
I use Dove Moisturizing and Exfoliating bar soap, and Apricot scrub.Posted 1 year ago # -
