Any cleanser will do. The key is to clean all surfaces and glass. You got it, carpets are worst. Dander might stay for awhile then dissipate.

Personally, I'd call a professional cleaning company - you may be pleasantly surprised at what it would cost to have them clean the carpets, air ducts, and everything else . . . with a warranty! I think the cost would be far outweighed by the fact that you can be sure the entire house is clean, if there's a problem the warranty will ensure that they come back to make sure all allergens are removed, and you won't have to deal with allergic reactions that you will most likely encounter while cleaning the house.

Some other things to keep in mind: 1) Many times the realtor can help you get the cost of allergen removal covered, 2) With documentation from your health care provider, your home owner's insurance may assist you with a portion of the cost.

So, I would leave the cleaning to a professional company that specializes in removing allergens so you can enjoy getting ready for that new home! Congratulations on buying a house!
