I'm not sure if it will affect you later on...I kind of doubt it. But if you drink more milk, or take a calcium pill the calcium is suppose to help you have less of these.

Sounds like you need to do some "cool down" stretches. When you've exercised a muscle a lot, you have what is called "lactic acid" in the muscle. Stretching the muscle will help. Put your hands on a wall or cabinet, back up to about 2-3 feet from wall with all your weight on one foot, stretch the other leg behind with the heel on the floor. Slowly bend the knee on the front leg, stretching the muscles in the back leg. Reverse legs and repeat. If it's lactic acid, the more it burns, the better it will feel.
There are other causes for muscle cramps. Low sodium, (need water usually) low calcium, etc. Why not do a computer search for "muscle cramps"?Posted 2 years ago # -
I've never put a muscle into more pain and walked away in less pain, I hope you can do that if you try other ways that are suggested.
I end up getting the charley horses as well, used to get them on a regular basis. Then I started digging my fingers into the charley horse when I would get it and the pain would stop and a few seconds later the charley horse would disappear. Then I could let the muscle go. I did that a few times and then I didn't have any problems for almost a year.Posted 2 years ago #
