I am on a trial pair of contact lenses. My eyes feel dry?

I just want to second the other responder who said that you will not be bothering your doctor. It is their job to help you find the right lenses that fit.

Contact lenses are a totally subjective experience for each individual. The lenses I find most comfortable are indeed Acuvue Oasys, but others I have spoken to hate them. Don't hesitate to try as many brands as you can! The three brands that have had the best success in the practice I work in have been Oasys, Air Optix Aqua, and Biofinity weekly/monthly disposables (for full-time contact lens wearers) and Dailies AquaComfort Plus, Acuvue Moist, and Acuvue TruEye daily disposable contact lenses (for part-time wearers). I live in a very, very dry climate.

There are drops specifically for re-wetting soft contact lenses. Ask your doctor(s) which they recommend the most--please do not pick and choose something from a pharmacy, ask your doctor for their recommendation (my office typically recommends Blink Contacts). You are best to use a brand recommendation from your doctor as they would steer you away from anything that has preservatives.

The other thing for them to look at would be the care system (solution) you are using. It's actually amazing what a difference that can make! We've seen people switch their solution and experience incredible improvement without having to switch their brand of contacts.

Again--ask your doctors. Keep going back. Cover all your bases. That's what you pay them for!

Don't worry about bothering them. That's what their job is , and that's what trials are for.

Oasys don't actually help much with dry eyes in my experience . They are way over hyped.

It would be worth trying them probably, but don't count on miracles. I've had only about 20 % of trials who preferred them over Biofinity , or even the brands they had been wearing.

Just remember, you are the one paying for them to find you the best lens...so it is never a bother. Sometimes a case like yours is a bit of a challenge that makes the job more interesting.
