I am wearing an air boot for new foot fracture. Any advice, anyone? As long as it doesn't hurt,

  1. As long as it doesn't hurt, there's no reason why you can't be up and walking around. However, you shouldn't try to run or play sports.

I had a stress fracture in one of the metatarsal bones in my foot this past October. I had one of the short air casts that only went above my ankle. I wasn't allowed to do gym class or anything like that and missed the rest of marching band season and couldn't march in the last two football games.I wore my boot most of the time. I did however take my boot off when I came home from school and let my foot kinda of rest a little. I walked without the boot on. It didn't cause too much pain, only for the first couple weeks while the fracture was healing. I did find that sleeping with the boot on made my foot hurt a lot less during the night because it was held still. I just didn't put as much air in it at night. When I didn't feel like wearing the boot during the last couple of weeks I had it and wasn't going anywhere, just kind of staying at home, I wrapped my foot up in a Ace bandage. This was nice because my foot wasn't all stuffed up in the boot, I just had to be careful. I had my boot on for about 8 weeks. Walking in the snow was not fun!!! Good luck with your boot and fracture!!!
