i broke my tooth help please?

    i chipped my tooth a few years ago....it hasnt bothered me at all...but my dentist did say it could possibly affect my other teeth...but im sure it will be ok till then...like i said mines been chipped for years now...

    Without a prescription, you should only take as much ibuprofen as the label states.

    If the pain is too intense, call the dentist's office back and ask them what you can take for pain. They may give you a prescription, or may give you different instructions for an over the counter medication.

    If the dentist is not willing to do this, consider calling your regular doctor and explaining the situation. They *might* be willing to provide temporary pain relief.

    If all else fails, stick to the instructions on the ibuprofen bottle, and if you want you can probably also take acetaminophen (Tylenol) -- stagger the two, so you're not taking them at the same time but always a few hours apart. Check with your doctor to make sure it's safe for you to do this (I don't know your health history or specific situation).

    Maybe 3 every 2 hours?

    If you are in a lot of pain, go to the doctor and get something stronger.
