Its a little red where I burned most of the burns are healing fine but the big one is open like an open sore at first it was closed it never really blistered but it turned white now its open and it looks like its trying to close with a yellowish white layer trying to form,I have been putting antibiotic ointment on it since it happened and I am not sure why it seems to be getting worse is it normal for this to happen on day 3 after the burn it was about a 2 degree burn.Thank you for any help I am just trying to find out if I should go to a doctor tomorrow.

    Hi,
It sounds like your burn has just taken some time to form a blister after burning it, and the blister has now sloughed away, leaving an open sore.
It depends on what your wound looks like before deciding what you need to do.
Firstly, cooking oil burns can be painful for a few days after the incident, and open sores from burns can look infected even when they're not, with yellow slough, even though this is just serous fluid, which is the bodies way of keeping bacteria out of the wound and is completely normal.
If I were you, I would STOP using the cream, and gently wash the wound with tepid water and soap (non-perfumed) and gently pat dry with either gauze (sterile is great) or a piece of clean toilet tissue, as long as you dont hold it on there for ages, and the tissue gets stuck in the wound!
Leave it dry without anything on it, and see what it is like in the morning.
The antibiotic ointment may just keep the wound wet and will delay its healing time. Also, if you are not absolutely meticulous in keeping everything clean when putting the cream on, you could actually increase the chances of introducing infection into the wound.
Take paracetamol (1g every 4 hours - no more than 8 in 24 hours) to take the edge off the pain and see how it goes. Don't worry too much.
    Hope this helps.

Judging by your description, if the burn never blistered, is because it is a third degree burn or a B burn

The reason why it didn't blister is because the outer skin layer was destroyed by the hot oil.

The way you describe the healing is a sign to go and see a doctor, because red burns and blisters heal up with no sequel, but when the burn is deep enough the tissue will be replaced by a scar. You should go to any institution related to burn care, or a plastic surgeon, as this might need surgical attention in order to avoid losing skin flexibility and thus reducing mobility at the site of the burn

Don't panic, it can be cured alright
