I was walking and this guy did a flip...He kicked me in the face. I blacked out. When I came to I could not remember what happened, how I got to the place I was at ( I knew where I was), What the date was ( I knew the year... I thought it was may...), what was going on, how I got knocked out, and what was going on. I knew who my friends were and I was saying stuff that I remembered... I was kind of delirious I think... I was like" I like ____ but don't tell anyone, my name is _______, we are at ______, my friends are ___,___,___... and just saying stuff I remembered out loud. Then I was freaking out how I got there, what was going on, how I got knocked out and so on... I finally remembered how I got there and so on after a little reminding from my friends. I still don't remember getting hit in the head and fainting. My eye site was like when you stare at the sun for a long time. It was my whole field of vision. It was like that for 2 hours. Then I was really tired and I think I i felt like puking or I was just hungry because I did not eat for a few hours... I was dead tired and I felt like falling asleep but everyone kept me awake. When my mom picked me up I kept dozing off and waking up a minute later. The front part of my head hurt for about two hours... When I got home my head stopped hurting. I am sure I have a concussion... What should I do? I don't want to go to the hospital or doctor because my parents will not let me do parkour any more. They only know I was kicked in the head, not the details... Thanks.

I'm sorry to say but you really need to be seen by a doctor. You need an MRI at the least.

Good advice, don't go to the doctor until you have an anurism. Then & only then should your parents know what's going on. LORD KNOWS THOSE DAMN DOCTORS ARE IDIOTS!

You really need to pay attention to your symptoms.. if they get any worse, go immediately to the doctor! Whatever punishment or fun things your parents take away won't mean much if you die. I copy & pasted a couple of articles. One is a first aid article. The other is about an actress who died after an untreated brain injury. It probably is not the same kind of injury you have but you should be aware.. and careful.

Bleeding under the scalp, but outside the skull, creates a "goose egg" or large bruise at the site of the head injury. A goose egg is common and will go away on its own with time. The use of ice immediately after the trauma may help decrease its size.

    * Do not apply ice directly to the skin - use a washcloth as a barrier and wrap the ice in it. You may also use a bag of frozen vegetables wrapped in cloth, as this will conform nicely to the shape of the head.
    * Apply ice for 20-30 minutes at a time and repeat about every two to four hours as needed. There is little benefit after 24 hours.
    * For a minor head injury that results from a fall onto carpet or from a distance that is less than the height of the person who fell, contacting a doctor is usually not needed if there is no loss of consciousness (in other words, the person was not "knocked out"). Apply ice to lessen the swelling and monitor for worsening symptoms that necessitate a visit to the doctor.
    * Warning signs of more serious head injury include nausea and vomiting, unsteady gait, confusion, numbness, muscle weakness, visual changes, or persistent dizziness.
    * Do not drive yourself to the hospital. There is a risk of seizures with more serious head injuries.
    * If at all possible, do not stay alone for the first 24 hours after a concussion.
    * If you have neck pain after a fall, see a medical professional even if the concussion seems minor.
    * If you had dizziness or heart palpitations that accompanied a fall, see your doctor.
    * If you take blood thinners, a mild concussion may become more serious over time.
    * Aspirin or ibuprofen may make bruising worse. Acetaminophen is preferred.

    Medical Treatment

Bed rest, fluids, and a mild pain reliever such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) may be prescribed.

    * Ice may be applied to bumps for pain relief and to decrease the swelling.
    * Cuts will be numbed with medication such as lidocaine, by injection or topical application. The cut will then be cleansed thoroughly with a saline solution and possibly an iodine solution. The physician will explore the injury to look for foreign matter and hidden injuries. The wound usually will be closed with skin staples, stitches (sutures), or, occasionally, a skin glue called cyanoacrylate (Dermabond).
    * If there are any findings that raise concern of a more serious head injury, a CT of the head may be done.
    * Your healthcare professional will give you a list of symptoms that may indicate a more serious brain injury.

NEW YORK — Actress Natasha Richardson died from bleeding in her skull caused by the fall she took on a ski slope, an autopsy found Thursday. The medical examiner ruled her death an accident, and doctors said she might have survived had she received immediate treatment. However, nearly four hours elapsed between her lethal fall and her admission to a hospital.

Richardson suffered from an epidural hematoma, which causes bleeding between the skull and the brain’s covering, said Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the New York City medical examiner’s office.

Such bleeding is often caused by a skull fracture, and it can quickly produce a blood clot that puts pressure on the brain. That pressure can force the brain downward, pressing on the brain stem that controls breathing and other vital functions.

Patients with such an injury often feel fine immediately after being hurt because symptoms from the bleeding may take time to emerge.

“This is a very treatable condition if you’re aware of what the problem is and the patient is quickly transferred to a hospital,” said Dr. Keith Siller of New York University Langone Medical Center. “But there is very little time to correct this.”

To prevent coma or death, surgeons frequently cut off part of the skull to give the brain room to swell.

“Once you have more swelling, it causes more trauma which causes more swelling,” said Dr. Edward Aulisi, neurosurgery chief at Washington Hospital Center in the nation’s capital. “It’s a vicious cycle because everything’s inside a closed space.”

Richardson, 45, died Wednesday at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan after falling at the Mont Tremblant r
