Hey guys,I have a little question.I have a cousin that's 11 and wants braces so my aunt asked me look up info,so yeah! 1.Will it hurt getting them on?
2.How long do they have to be on for?
3.What certain foods and drinks and stuff should she stay away from?
4.Will she have a voice change?
5.What'll happen to brushing her teeth and flossing,her dental health?
6.Colors they're available in?
7.Make her mouth feel weird or uncomfortable?
8.Stuff she can't do once she gets them?
9.If you feel theres other info i should know about,tell me in your answer.
PLEASE answer in the order i asked the questions in and dont guess the answers.
How much do they cost? and please ANSWER the questions dont tell me to go to my dentist

1) No, it does not hurt for them to put them on. They glue them on and put a wire around the brackets. Yes, the teeth will be sore for a few days afterwards, because the purpose of braces is to move the teeth slowly in order to get them in the right position.
2)Depends on how badly her teeth and occlussion is. Usually braces range from 1-3 years.
3) She needs to keep her oral hygiene good and stay away from sugar foods and drinks. Oral hygiene is crucial .
4)No, her voice wil not change.
5) She will use a floss threader to floss her teeth and needs to brush more often . Her hygienist can give tools for her to take care of her teeth.
6)There are clear brackets and rubber bands of all colors she can choose from.
7)At first she will feel like she has huge lips because of the brackets and they may irritate her cheeks. Eventually she will become use to them.
