Why, don't you take her to a specialist, or reputable hospital, I don't know what kind of doctor you are seeing, but I wouldn't waist my time with just any doctor, look up in the internet under medical doctors under that profession. I don't know what part of the state you are in, but here in Texas we have very good doctors at the Medical Center in Houston. By what you say, doctors don't want to treat her,but yet you say they are doing a procedure that makes her situation worst. I don't know about a medical malpratice, but seems to me someone gave a consent to have the procedure done or else it wouldn't be done.

done absolutely nothing about it, my daughter is currently hospitalized an every day she complains about her tmj discomfort and pain, but the doctor has said the tmj is not important. My daughter has had this problem for about A year and a half and it makes her depressed. today her face was greatly swollen today it is even medically documented that she has tmj but they just refuse to treat it,is this is medical malpractice what extreme measures can i take to finally get some relief for my poor abused and neglected daughter
she's 21 and they say that her complaints are not important. then they r doing a procedure that makes her situation worse
they received permission to do the procedure without her consent they said they would take precaution for her tmj but they have not been taking any special measures. i am afraid they are scarring this young girl for lifePosted 1 year ago # -

You really need a referral to a topnotch craniofacial surgeon. These are the specialists who deal with TMJ problems constantly in their practices. I hate to say it but I have seen doctors who were in way over their heads too many times and one of those times nearly cost me my life.
One of my cousins, in her 20's at the time, had a horrific experience with TMJ pain, much as you describe with your daughter. It took almost 2 years before she was seen by a specialist who was able to relieve her problem with surgery. She had wasted away to almost nothing because of her difficulty eating and the resultant pain.
Nobody should be telling you that your daughter's complaints are not important. I would file an official complaint with the hospital that names names. You might also tell them that if you do not receive some sort of a satisfactory response in 2 weeks time, you will consider seeking the counsel of a malpractice attorney.
I sincerely wish you and your daughter well.
