My foot fell asleep, I got up, took two steps, and collapsed on my ankle. I couldn't get up by myself and literally my ankle went into immense pain then went numb. I went back to the table (we were at a restaurant) crying and could barely stand the pain. My toes however were numb and the majority of my foot, but I could feel a sharp pain on the side of my ankle. I was able to hobble out of the restaurant, not able to bend or rotate my left ankle, however. Since, I could semi-walk I thought I was fine. It was also immediately swollen, but not as big as it is now. When I came back home, I noticed a little bone or vein--it was very skinny, sticking out...
Now, my ankle is twice the size of my other ankle and is in excruciating pain. I can't even move it and it is throbbing as I am laying in bed. There is no chance at me being able to walk. I think I further injured it because somehow my foot got caught in my blanket and bent back further and ever since then I can't stand the pain at all.
My appointment for an x-ray is not until 11ish, but what do you think is wrong? Is it broken? Fractured? Sprained? And what will they probably do to treat it? Will I have to get a cast? :(
