When that happens to me, I take some aspirin, and put a heating pad on the sore area. This usually works just fine for me.
    Good luck..

Use a heating pad, take some Tylenol, and buy a supportive pillow

Every once in a while I will sleep weird or something and when I wake up my back or neck will hurt all day long. Sometimes for more than one day. Today I woke up and my neck hurts. It hurts to look down, or up too high, or too far to either side. But even when I'm just sitting up straight and looking forward it still hurts a little. Is there something I can do to help this, or make it go away faster. I feel pretty miserable.
p.s. I have a great bed and a wonderful and supportive pillow. One of those memory foam ones. And I already drink a ton of water.

  6. Try sleeping un-funny.

But seriously...drink more water before you go to bed. You might try potassium supplements as well. Potassium will help your muscles not cramp and water will help too. It probably feels like a pinched nerve but its more probably muscle spasms. Once you get the muscle spasms worked out you need to strengthen the muscle area thats giving you problems with neck exercises. Dont do this while your neck is hurting, you could just make the problem worse.
