    You don't need to worry about pain when you wake up you will be numb. Yes the implant surgery is uncomfortable for a day or two after but the doctor will give you pain meds (probably) and instructions to take care of your mouth. As long as you do what the doctor tells you to do you will be fine. I had 3 implants done with just lido-cane (sleep wasn't offered to me) and im being honest when i say i did not find it to be as bad as i thought it would be. Tell the doctor about your concerns before going in for the implant trust me in our office we would rather talk to a patient twenty times before working on them, it is never fun to watch someone loose it cause they were afraid to talk to us ahead of time.
