Do you think it is okay? I have slight astigmatism in both eyes. I'm also nearsighted... my glasses has prescription for both astigmatism and nearsightedness, but my contacts prescription only has prescription for nearsightedness but is higher by .25 diopters in each eye. Is this normal? Is it also okay to do that?

    Sure it's ok.

    In glasses for instance, a prescription of - 2.00 - 0.50 X 90 , becomes - 2.25 in contacts to give the same power.

That would be why you are seeing a number 0.25 higher than the glasses . That's the way it's done.

Yes. Since contacts aren't as strong as glasses, they give you a higher prescription.
