My dentist is sending me to the oral surgeon to have my wisdom teeth removed, I actually have the consultation tomorrow. Anyway, I have seen my mouth xrays and my wisdom teeth aren't growing in strange directions, they are just not above the surface. Obviously he thinks they need removed, but I am really nervous about this, and if it isn't necessary then I really would like to know, since they don't even give me problems.

Is removal of wisdom teeth necessary?

They can give you problems later.
Most people's mouths aren't big enough to fit their wisdom teeth when they come in, which is why they get removed. They can also be impacted, which means your other teeth are in the way of them coming up, which can be really painful.
If the oral surgeon sees you, he/she will tell you for sure whether they need to be removed or not, and when that can happen.

well it isn't necessary but if you had braces or just have straight teeth it will ruin them, there could also be infections. I would recommend just to get the surgery done. Cause also if you wait until you are like 19 or older the teeth could be full size and that makes the surgery alot bigger.
I had mine taken out last year, i was really nervous but i was put to sleep, and it didn't hurt at all, all my friends said it hurt so much and stuff i dunno if they were trying to freak me out or just are lil bitches cause its nothing. you wake up you have a bruise for like 2 days but you get a special type of tylenol that makes sure there is no pain
