Is there any real hope for me?

    The short answer: YES.

The more long-winded answer: "Hope" doesn't have to mean hoping for perfection or a cure. It can mean hoping for happiness, for more good days than bad, for fulfilled life, for time.

No one can promise you that you'll never have another complication, but you can give yourself the best chance you're able by taking care of yourself as well as you're able... and then that's when hope comes into play.

At the same time, I understand why you're feeling hopeless. That's soooo much to deal with. I was scared to death when I was merely diagnosed with diabetes and started learning about the complications, and I can't even imagine what it must be like to be facing them down in the here and now. My situation isn't even comparable to yours, but I will share this: I do get very, very down and discouraged sometimes... but I remember that the way I feel right then won't last forever. There WILL be a sunny day, or a funny joke, or a day of blissfully stable blood sugar. It's a small thing when you're in the thick of hopelessness, but it helps me to know that my worst moments will pass... even if I also know that they'll come back now ant then.
