Lenscrafters: Has anyone had any luck getting a refund from them?

I've gone to Lenscrafters a few times now during the last decade or so - in part because of their 30 day satisfaction guarantee. I've only just realized how much extra I'm paying for that guarantee - never spent over $200 for a pair in my life, but just did and they are ill-fitting. I've gone back once to exchange glasses that were too big and sliding off my face, and still the second pair is too big and ill-fitting and it's really annoying because this time she took all kinds of measurements that I realized were not done the first time. But since they still don't fit it makes me think they totally don't know what they are doing and don't have very good training. Does their guarantee just cover the first exchange, or will I be successful going back again and complaining that they don't fit? (I'm still within my 30 days). Will I be able to just get my money back from them? I don't trust I will be happy now without spending more and more money - which is what I think they are counting on when they let you exchange for 30 days.

A 30 day satisfaction guarantee includes refunding any purchases you have changed your mind about. At the company I work at, the 30 day guarantee means we will exchange each pair once, for frame, lenses, or both. I'd be willing to bet that Lenscrafters has a similar policy.

For example, we have this patient who drives me crazy. He has a high prescription, so I suggested to himhe upgrade his lenses to thinner, lighter weight ones. He declined saying he was going to get good ones when he went on vacation out of the country. He returned a couple days later to change the frames. We had to cut new lenses for them. Then he came back a few days later and changed one of the new frames for another one. Again, we had to cut new lenses. Then he came back AGAIN and upgraded the lenses. We were out the cost of 4 frames, and 14 lenses. Because we didn't have a manager at the time, we had to do what we could to keep the customer happy. However, we found out from corporate, we can change each once, and once only.

Call Lenscrafters and ask specifics. That's the only way you'll get a straight answer.
