My mom was diagnosed with Leukemia, which she suspected months before the official diagnosis because of some advice her doctor friends gave her. She had excessive difficulties getting diagnosed and to switch PCPs like 5 times or something until someone finally saw something because she was already close to dying. WTF? Why are some doctors so stupid?! My mom could still have a couple more months and maybe a few more years if she started treatment sooner. She suffered needlessly. Sorry, I am not trying to be very emotional here, but she didn't deserve this and I have to wonder what is going on in the medical circles that leads to this much neglect.

Leukemias are not just one disease. Their presentation, severity, and aggressiveness widely vary. Some have no symptoms at all for years or longer, while others have vague symptoms that are hard to attribute to leukemias.
Unfortunately, doctors aren't perfect and they make very human mistakes. What happened to your mother is unfair, yes, but you probably wont have luck trying to prove that her doctors acted with neglect. That said, you are within your rights to hire a lawyer to aid you in weeding out any real neglect.
My own recommendation is that you focus on the time she does have, if she's still alive, instead of letting yourself get bitter and hateful over what could have been. Reality is hard, the fact that humans are fragile is hard, but you are certainly not alone in this experience. Focus on making things as well as they can be from here on out- looking back wont get you anywhere.
